Punjab Police has successfully busted a terrorist module of Babbar Khalsa Internationl (BKI) that had been indulging in bomb blasts and other terrorist activities for some time. A Case FIR No 194 Dated 16-07-2010 under sections 3,4,5 of Explosive Substances Act, section 25 of Arms Act and sections 17,18,20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been registered in PS City Khanna in this regard. Acting on a specific tip off, a police party of Khanna Police arrested the following four persons on 16-07-2010.  

1. Harminder Singh s/o Gurmail Singh of Ludhiana
2. Jaswinder Singh s/o Prabhdial Singh of Rajpura
3. Manjinder Singh s/o Manjit Singh of village Hussainpura Distt. Patiala
4. Gurjant Singh s/o Sewak Singh of village Jangpur Distt. Mohali. 

It is pertinent to mention that Harminder Singh is a top ranking member of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and a reward of Five Lac Rupees had been announced by the Punjab Police for his arrest. He is the mastermind in the Shingar Cinema Blast that took place on 14-10-2007. Harminder had been absconding ever since then and was declared a Proclaimed Offender in Case FIR No 238 dated 14-10-2007 under sections 302,307 of Indian Penal Code, sections 3,4,5 of Explosive Substances Act PS Div No 6 Ludhiana. He had been hiding in Pakistan and Nepal all this while and organising terrorist activities in India. He has been extensively trained in Pakistan. With his arrest all the accused in the Shingar Cinena Blast case have been arrested. In an attempt to evade arrest, Harminder jumped off a roof-top and suffered a fracture in his right leg. However, he was promptly given the necessary medical aid.
The other three arrested persons are active members of the organization called ‘Shiromani Tat Khalsa’. Jaswinder Singh is one of the five top leaders of the organization. All three of them were involved in the protest against holding of the Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan function at Ludhiana in December 2009 and were also injured in the process.
The arrested persons have disclosed during investigation that they had caused a blast in Ambala on 13 April 2010. A case FIR No 166 under sections 3,4,5 of Explosive Substances Act stands registered in PS City Ambala in this regard. On 21 April 2010 they had caused a blast near Sat Narain  Mandir in Patiala. A case FIR No 159 under sections 3,4 of Explosive Substances Act and 18,20 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act stands registered in this regard in PS Kotwali, Patiala.
The following recoveries have been effected from them so far

1. 3 kg RDX Explosive
2. Four Detonators
3. Four Timer Devices along with fuse wire
4. Two empty pipes to be used for making bombs
5. One AK-47 Rifle with 50 Rounds of  ammunition
6. One 30 Bore Pistol with 68 Rounds of ammunition
7. 2,322 US Dollars and Rupees 57,000
8. A fake voter ID card in the name of Baljit Singh

They have been receiving huge sums of money from India and abroad for carrying out terrorist activities. All the accused are on Police remand till 24-07-2010 and more revelations are expected during further investigation. All Police Officers who played a role in busting this module will be suitably recommended and rewarded by the Director General of Punjab Police. The reward announced by the Department will be given to the informer and the identity of the informer will be kept secret.
